Single-tooth implants are now scientifically established as an alternative to three-unit bridges. Especially when adjacent teeth are intact, this approach eliminates the need for traumatic tooth preparation. However, intact adjacent teeth also provide sufficient enamel for anchoring an adhesive cantilever bridge. Adhesive cantilever bridges are now also scientifically established and demonstrate the same long-term results as conventional bridges and implants. Unfortunately, cantilever bridges are still far too little known among private practitioners today.
