What will you learn in this seminar?
Dental radiology has become increasingly widespread in recent years due to the spread of 3-dimensional (3D) imaging using digital volume tomography (DVT). In addition to classic intraoral and extraoral imaging (2-dimensional / 2D), DVT technology sometimes presents private practitioners with complex diagnostic problems. Which findings are harmless and which are potentially dangerous? What is a regular anatomical structure, a normal variant and what is already a pathological process? Which changes are already manifest malignancies? These are all questions that private practitioners ask themselves time and again when viewing and analyzing 2D and 3D images in dental radiology. One of the aims of this seminar & quiz is to be able to distinguish between harmless and relevant changes in the X-ray image and thus demonstrate the important steps in the decision-making process for dental radiology findings.

Highlights:
  • Which radiographic changes are harmless and which are potentially dangerous?
  • Which important anatomical structures can I recognize in the DVT?
  • How do benign versus malignant changes manifest themselves in the CBCT?
  • When should a patient be referred for further radiological clarification and diagnosis?
