Sleep is one of
4 basic needs that are vital for human
survival and yet we are only slowly getting to the bottom of its elementary importance.
Poor or insufficient sleep can therefore
have fatal consequences - at any age. In the first part of the course, we will look at sleep, its importance for us and possible sleep disorders, especially
breathing-related sleep disorders. Every doctor or dentist working in the head and neck area plays an essential role in recognizing and correctly assessing sleep disorders. A sleep disorder can also be triggered by ""not paying attention"". The connections between
craniofacial and dental anatomy, symptoms and possible sleep disorders are shown and the necessary diagnostic pathways are presented.
Parafunctions also play an important role. In addition, this course will show the current but also the cause-related and possible further
treatment methods and their necessary follow-up.
