Modern implantology is dealing more and more intensively with the problem of peri-implant tissue. Osteointegration is no longer a question with all implant systems that can demonstrate recognized research and proven clinical experience. However, implants must be long-lasting and free of complications. The peri-implant tissues play a decisive role here. Soft tissue management during the prosthetic phase can lead to satisfactory results, but implant positioning in relation to the alveolar ridge is a decisive factor: subcrestal placement of the implant means giving the bone, and thus the soft tissue, more space to ensure blood supply and reshaping of the papillae.

Focal points
  • Optimal subcrestal positioning
  • Improved blood supply to the peri-implant tissue
  • Promotion of the formation of mature marginal tissue
  • Reshaping of the papilla tissue
  • Reduced force distribution due to the beveled shoulder of the implant
  • Platform switching ensures more crestal bone
  • Preservation of the alveolar ridge determines the long-term success
  • Ideal management of the limited space available
