Webinar content: Pregnancy is a physiological condition of women. Pregnant women are not known to be ill and yet we are confronted with pathological conditions in the dental practice every day. Dentistry should be seen as part of human medicine. Interdisciplinary cooperation and treatment approaches are needed to unite both disciplines for the safety of our patients. This seminar will highlight step by step which dental, oral surgery, internal medicine, gynecology and pharmacology connections are essential in the dentist's repertoire. Untreated pulp inflammation can even lead to abortion. Apical periodontitis also increases the risk of preclampsia, while untreated periodontitis can lead to miscarriage. Pregnant women can present us with latent challenges, particularly in the dental emergency service, but also during recall check-ups. In this seminar, cases from the dental emergency service androutine check-ups are systematically and step-by-step analyzed by diagnosis using clinical photos and the therapeutic steps are shown, taking into account the safety measures for pregnant women in the dental practice.
