Course content
Fortunately, malignant tumors are not common, but in addition to the benign diseases that occur every day, they are a central topic in the field of oral health. The diagnosis of a malignant tumor is usually a life-changing event for the patient, especially if it is detected (too) late. Systematic extraoral and intraoral inspection and palpation are important. The dental practice team is responsible for the early detection of malignant and premalignant tumors. A regular and accurate extraoral and intraoral examination can save lives. The aim of this course is therefore to motivate dentists and dental hygienists to recognize, understand and communicate mucosal changes. What indicates benign and what indicates malignant? Is a biopsy indicated?
