Content of the seminar
  • Are peri-implant inflammations unavoidable?
  • How do I treat combined defects? Surgical / non-surgical?
  • How and when can I implant in paro patients?
Implants are a successful treatment for replacing lost teeth. Reviews attest to the high success rates of implantology, even over a long period of time. However, complications with implants (peri-implantitis, mucositis), if they occur, are difficult to treat. For this reason, patients with pre-existing periodontitis in particular must meet certain requirements to guarantee successful implant treatment over a long period of time. However, it is not only the dentist who is required to ensure optimal compliance and hygiene at home. In this context, there are some special features relating to implants that play a role in communication and education with the patient. For example, implant-supported constructions are often significantly more massive, e.g. due to the prosthetic compensation of lost alveolar bone and surrounding soft tissue. The aim of this seminar is to highlight important aspects in the pre- and post-operative care of patients with implant-supported restorations.

Highlights:
  • Changes in the treatment of severe periodontitis
  • Non-surgical/surgical treatment of periodontitis
  • Indications for implants in PARO patients
  • Prosthetic concepts in closed dentition and gap dentition
  • Prerequisites for implant-prosthetic reconstructions in PARO patients
  • Aspects of oral hygiene at home for implant-prosthetic reconstructions
  • Aspects of soft tissue management in the context of implant restoration
  • Prosthetic and material-related aspects
