Course content: Endo-periodontal lesions are not always recognizable at first glance. They are often mistakenfor periodontal lesions and are therefore only treated periodontally, which often leads to failure. An endo-periodontal lesion can only be adequately treated with targeted diagnostics at the start of treatment. Knowledge of the various pathways connectingthe endodontic and periodontal pathways is of crucial importance. According to the new classification, they are divided into endo-periodontal lesions with and without a root defect. Diagnostics and therapy are discussed on the basis of typicalcase studies.
Highlights:
What does an endo-paro lesion look like? What is typical (clinical, radiographic)?
How does the bacterial exchange between endodont and periodont occur?
What are the connecting pathways?
How are endo-periodontal lesions differentiated according to the new classification?
How can external root resorption be distinguished from carious lesions? What are the therapeutic options?
What are the typical characteristics of endo-paro lesions and how are they treated?
