Content of the webinar
Changes to the gingiva and periodontal tissue are not only the result of reactive processes caused by biofilm. It is not uncommon for changes to occur in the gingiva and periodontium even without the primary effect of biofilm. Such processes can be inflammatory, systemic or neoplastic. Depending on the findings, urgency is required and sometimes also interdisciplinary clarification and treatment. In this presentation, the most common non-biofilm-associated changes to the gingiva will be presented and their treatment discussed.

Highlights

  • Which gingival changes are not associated with biofilm?
  • Epulids - growths on the gingiva
  • Mucodermatoses on the gingiva - desquamative gingivitis
  • Case discussions
