Content of the practical workshop: Today, a large number of manufacturers offer a considerable number of different luting composites, cements and adhesive systems. The choice, indication and ultimately the intraoral use of a suitable luting system is therefore not always easy.
This course is intended to provide a brief and concise overview of dental ceramics and ceramic-like materials and the most important principles of conventional, self-adhesive and adhesive luting of ceramic or conventional reconstructions. You can expect a systematic in-depth look at the practice-oriented selection and application of various systems in relation to the material properties of the reconstruction and the individual intraoral conditions. Individual luting systems will be examined in detail and then applied and practiced directly on the model in a hands-on course following the theoretical part.
Highlights:
Classification of dental ceramics and ceramic-like materials
Basics of cementation
Which luting systems are available and their properties
How are VMK and gold restorations cemented?
How are ceramic restorations cemented?
To what extent do the ceramic materials differ?
Can a conventional cement be used or must adhesive cementation always be used?
How and when are enamel and/or dentin pretreated?
How and when are the inner surfaces of the restoration pretreated?
